The Hacker Democrat, Model No.RP34, was manufactured by Hacker Radio Ltd., Maidenhead - Year 1966/1967.
It is an AM radio with nine transistors and covers both Medium Wave and Long Wave bands.
It is powered by two PP9 batteries and has a large elliptical 8 inch (20.3 cm) loudspeaker.
The exterior case and handle of this set are in good condition while the dial glass and control knobs have been cleaned and polished.  There are minor signs of age-appropriate wear, adding to its charm and authenticity. It has been thoroughly cleaned, both inside and out.  The electronics within the set have been fully tested and refurbished, and components replaced with modern equivalents where required while the dial cord has also been replaced.
The set has good audio performance and sensitivity on MW and LW with little of the usual background noise typical of sets of this period. Don’t miss this opportunity to own a piece of history!
