Sky Leader vintage radio

Ever Ready 'Sky Leader'
This transistor radio dates from around 1958 and was manufactured by the Ever Ready Co. (GB) Ltd. London.  It incorporates six semiconductors in a Superheterodyne circuit with two AF stages and features LW and MW bands.  There are switches on top of the set that are used to switch bands while the middle of these buttons turns the set OFF  Power comes from a 9V battery (PP9) and the set has a 4 inch Celestion CT-4252 loudspeaker.
The exterior features an attractive red leather coloured carrying case that has been thoroughly cleaned.  The case has cream coloured control knobs and also features some brass trim.  The tuning knob comes in two parts to facilitate control making the set especially sensitive. The front and rear grills have metallic threading showing minor signs of age-appropriate wear, adding to its charm and authenticity. This set is now over 60 years old but it is in remarkably good cosmetic condition and it works perfectly and sounds quite good as these Ever Ready radios usually do!  
Internally, all dust, dirt and other debris has been removed and only slight refurbishment of the electronics was required to get this set working well.
